Downtown Baltimore Continues Building Despite Tough Market

Developers completed nearly $550 million in downtown Baltimore construction projects in the first four months of 2008, twice the value completed in 2007 according to Downtown Partnership of Baltimore. Many projects started before the credit crunch. A single $232 million mixed-use project fills a square block in Harbor East. Other significant projects include, a $65 million condo project, $42 million apartment conversion, $30 million new construction- Baltimore School of the Arts, $30 million Sheraton and a $10 million renovation retail project.
