Mixed-Use Mania

Commercial developers are seeing an ever-increasing interest in mixed-use development. People are flocking to new pedestrian-freindly environments, which come in the form of suburban village centers or downtown high-rises offering condos, offices, and retail space. People want to be close to where they can live and play and have access to services.

As shopping malls are replaced by lifestyle centers and industrial buildings fall into disuse, developers are devising new plans for properties through demolition and adaptive reuse.
