Trends in Office Space

The movement continues towards needing less space and more flexibility.  With cloud technology easily available, less storage is needed and people don’t need to file as much paper. When was the last time you opened a reference book as compared to finding your information online therefore, less books on the shelves. Fewer secretaries and executive assistants – professionals deal directly with contacts via email, CRM, etc.  There will be more shared office space with modular characteristics. Many workers simply need a desk and internet connectivity. It doesn't need to be the same desk every day. This will create downward pressure on price per square foot for legacy office space. Newly designed space with open natural light to accommodate the changing work habits will continue to command higher prices and demand.
